I've been working on an M100 trailer for about 2 months now and am almost ready to shoot the paint. Eventually I'll build a rack and install a RTT but that'll have to wait until summer when the paychecks are a little fatter.
The trailer was in very sad shape with lots of bullet holes and 4 big square holes cut in the floor where a large generator sat. I didn't feel too bad cutting a square hole and fitting a receiver for a bike rack and spare tire holder. The rims are off my buddy's 416 trailer with new 6x16 NDT tires. I had to enlarge the center hole on the rims by about 1/4" and use 3 spacers (1/4"ea.) to fit the hubs and not rub. The fenders are standard 15" circumference replacement jobs from Tractor Supply and I cut off about 2" from the inside edge so it would have a straight edge to bolt up.
It'll get Olive Drab paint, correct for the year (1951) 3 stars, and unit insignia from one of my last assignments in the Army (either the 4/11th ACR from Fulda, Germany or the 1/17 CAV from Fort Bragg, NC).
The tail lights will be Model A replacement units from JC Whitney. They're fairly cheap and have that old look to them. Oh yeah, I sprayed in a couple coats of Durabak bedliner. Sorry about the huge photos. I'm still trying to figure this thing out.

Nice photos. You do nice work. I like the M100 style with the rounded fenders. My next step is t replace the lunette and secure my camp kitchen to the interior. Spring project as the trailer is snowed in now.

What's your color choice?

Photogod,
I'll paint it with a gallon of OD Green (Olive Drab Semi-Gloss Korea/Vietnam #24087) from Surplus City Jeep Parts out of Oroville, Ca. Surplus City Jeep Parts - Tires and Military Spec. Paint. I ordered the tires from Coker tire Coker Tire - Coker Tire.
I'm starting to plan the rack and RTT and will incorporate a kitchen. I think I'll put the RTT about 3' above the trailer so when I open it to the side it will provide an awning or shaded area to cook under. I'll also try to build a fold down table to hold the stove and a small stainless sink. Water will come from a 25 gallon tank with electric pump (like one of those little AG units you can put on the back of an ATV). Like I said, all that will probably wait until the fires (and overtime) start this summer.

Here's a couple pictures of the tire carrier / bike rack we just finished. The nice thing about it is you can use it in a receiver on a bumper and still tow a trailer.

These are the last pictures for a while, promise. I'll be replacing the spare 7 x 16 NDT with a 6" x 16" tire. The bike rack (that I didn't make) won't lock in the up position with the wider tire. The spare tire carrier and receiver all work like a charm.

Here's the mostly finished product. We had a couple nice days so we got the paint and tail lights on it.

Still have to wire the thing and get it registered.

Nice lights. From a model "A"? They are the same type we used in our restos. Trailer looks real nice. Clean job.
