I want your used oil

I'm looking for any oil you may want to get rid of. This can include motor oil, gear oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, hydraulic fluid, and most any other petroeum-based oils. Prefer, but not required, that it not be mixed or contaminated with water, antifreeze, or any major solids. If you have some you need to get rid of or out of the way, I may be able to come pick it up. The larger the quantity, the further I'll go to get it and the more I'm likely to give for it. If you are a shop or know of one that'd be interested, I may be interested in setting up a semi-regular pick up schedule.

I've had ads on C/L for a few months now in the auto section - done okay with it but I need a bigger and cleaner supply now. And believe me, offering to pay is the least of my worries. I'd be happy to pay if the situation and supply were right.

Not sure how much I've got right now but its a fair amount. Oil changes from the diesel and equipment add up quick. Let me see. I'm north of Chatt in Cleveland.

I use it for a different type of biodiesel for my tow rig. If you're not too far off the highway, I should be making 1-3 trips through Chat-town on my way to Atlanta during the holidays and could possibly pick up. Just let me know how much you have and how it'd need to be picked up or transferred. Thanks.

Are you thru Nashville very often? I currently have 5 gallons I was about to take to auto zone and another 3-4 that I need to put in the bucket that I need to empty.

Just curious if that is enough for you to bother with or if I need to just continue taking it on to the parts store?

Also, I'd like to keep my bucket, but might could come up with another.

God I hope you're kidding Cam. That hits close to home because the last big run I went on I did get a bunch of oil that was in paint buckets... that weren't empty when the oil was put in. What a mess!

About how much is there and where are you located? If it's only a gallon or two, I'd have to already be in the area for something to make it worthwhile; I'm a good ways north of Memphis. I will be down in Memphis for the club meeting next week though.

I am just a few miles off exit 62 on 24 and depending on when you come thru I could meet you over at the T/A Travel Center if you wanted. My office is over off of exit 196 on 40 on the west side of Nashville and if you are coming thru during the day I could throw it in the back of the truck for you.

Just let me know when you think you will be thru and I will get you my number and we can get together on it.

If you think you will be thru every few months, I will see if I can find something a little larger or another bucket to store my oil in for you.

Let me check, but I believe my dad has several used 5 gallon buckets with lids I may be able to pick up over the Christmas break. Steve, you could drop these off with those who want to donate larger quantities for ease of collection. Shall I check?

Another option would be to go to a Firehouse Subs near you and pick up several 5 gallon pickle buckets. At $2 per bucket with lid, it's hard to beat. Plus, it helps their community service projects : >)

I totally forgot to get with you this weekend before I left on my first of many trips. I had to stop at exit 70 to drop some parts off to someone and that might've been a great opportunity to meet with you too. Oh well, if you wanna shoot me your number I'll try to work something out for one of the weekends over the next month or two. I also may be able to get you a larger container or, thanks to Jordan (below), multiple 5gallon buckets if that's what you'd need.

I will be in roaming the state over the next few weeks for the holidays myself, so sometime after the first of the year might be good, but let me know if you are thru since I may be around.

A bucket swap would suit me fine, the ones I have have always been my oil buckets, so swapping a full for an empty is fine with me, and probably way easier then trying to get some kind of container emptied. I will pm you my number.
