I need help figuring out how to solve my tounge problem in my hitch.
The hitch... well its a bumper/hitch is a little too large for the tounge insert. I have tried plastikote, and other adhesive types and have had no luck. What can I do... Some pics to follow

what strange vehicle is that? :)

Anyway, are you saying that the receiver (the square hollow tube) is too big for the 2"x2" insert bar that the ball is bolted on?

If so, some play is common and generally not a problem, but if it bothers you you can buy a tightening device to stop the hitch from rattling.

Weld two beads completely around the insert bar near its ends where it contacts the receiver tube. Then grind to fit. That will make a much more snug fit.

clever and elegant. Gotta get myself a welder dang it!

for the rest of us, though, some layers of sheet metal wrapped around the ball mount/drawbar or pounded in might do also in a pinch? Or heck a couple of nails?

yeah no welder here... but it is pretty bad when towing stuff.

buy a landcrusier and problem solved

Take a nickel, or penny, or dime and drive in with a cold chisel after inserting stinger. Stays in during use, comes out when pulling stinger. Not very expensive either.
