Cool idea! If you used a small OD tubing you might be able to fit a halo with some crossbars, but it will be just that... how would you tie it into the frame/solid flooring? To answer the question I would have to look for sure? I wouldn't think you would be able to fit more than 1" OD? It would still be better than stock though!?

When I finally do mine it will be an external halo with bars that come down to the lower windshield area and in the back to the rear bumper/quarterpanel protection, then some mounts on the gutters. I slide my roofline on the trees a lot up here

There are about 6 small rods that tighten the headliner that go crossways & connect right where my cage sits. I don't think you can fit some 1.5" tube w/o doing some type of custom liner. I think mine's about as tight to the body as you can get it. I had to design my cage thinking about getting full welds around all the tubes.

Yeah, that's a good  I started my cage by building outriggers off the frame & holesaw thru the floor. I didn't use plates but fully welded to the outriggers. I only had difficulty welding near the windshield, but I beefed that area so no worries there. I think the only way you're going to make it work is if you applied your liner directly to the roof somehow.
