This is the hood on my 78 with the vent holes and raised section.

Cool... any idea how tall that lump is in the later hoods?

Also, how far from the nose does the lump start?

1.25" high, from the bottom of the raised section, and its 22" from the nose of the hood from my quick measurement.... if you want i can take some pics of where i have measured if im not making any sense?

sorry, the height is the difference from the sides of the hood as opposed to the front, which is also raised a little from the rest of the hood

The raised (later model) hoods tend to crack where the front of the raised portion ends. My '76 has the older low hood because I could not find a good raised hood that was not cracked and I don't need the extra under hood height anyways.

just cut some tight holes where required to the shape required and let bits poke through :bounce: hehe, let everyone know whats lurking beneath the hood!!

Title more or less states it.

I'm looking for some front shots of both stock versions of FJ55 hoods. I'm also looking for any hood scooped or modified hoods.

Also, how much of a hump does the latter model hood have compared to the stock one?

I'm trying to see what all my options are for fixing my high injection:rolleyes:

You can get rid of the vortec top hat which will save you tons of room, otherwise you will need to go to a LS6 intake but that requires going to a LS1 type water pump since there will be interference issues with the radiator outlet with the truck style water pump. The LS6 intake will give you an additional 3" + of clearance.
