Would you buy this?

Not sure of the year, but I think it's early 90's. Regular cab 4x4 V6, 5 spd. Clean body with matching shell. Not sure of the options.

Big sign on windshield says "As Is". So, I immediately assume the motor needs work. This may not be the case, but I would guess the engine would have troubles before the trans or TC. I will call tomorrow and get the straight story.

They are asking $1000. Should I get it, even if it needs a rebuild?

Best bet, is to see if you can have your mechanic take a peek under the hood for you. If the truck does not require a lot of work then buy it. What size engine is under the hood? Is it the 3.0 or 3.4 V6?

I know around here in S. Tx. the early 80 toy mini's still fetch a couple of grand.... it'd be worth the investigation....imho

GO TO DEALER!!!!!!


If possable the dealer that sold it/ survaces it.


Tip the guy wisper in his ear I dont care but get the survice history.


1: survice history


2: get cylinder pressures


3: milege will give idea of tranny condition.


4: body condition will give idea of how it was used/ abused.

If it's a 3.0 with a nice clean body and a camper shell, I'd say you could bet your neighbors life it needs atleast head gaskets, and probably heads.

It sold today before I could get back to the lot to look more closely. Will keep looking.
