Would a LX570 S sell in the states?

$100,420 is not that much more than a regular LX570. My wife’s 17 had an MSRP of $99k I believe. I obviously didn’t pay near that much but that’s what the sticker on the window said.

It is maddening to me that they keep offering more and more LX models and all we get is to pick a color on the LC.

I’ve been shopping used 4Runners for my son and there are a zillion different variants to chose from.

I understand the reasons the LC doesn’t have many options but at least the 2 v 3 row and perhaps something different rims wise and trim wise would be nice.

The article I saw suggested a $170000 AUD MSRP. That's like 120K greenbacks which seems steep for what you get over the regular LX.

The LX sells about double the LC in the US. The LC only sells about 300 per month, which makes it hard to sell multiple models.

“I understand the reasons the LC doesn’t have many options” is how I prefaced my post.

You have a point. Toyota would certainly get more sales if they marketed it more (practically nil) and introduced more exciting variants. Making it's rightful place at the top of the Toyota lineup.

Especially given the explosion in off-roading and overlanding interest. As it is, it's a vanilla platform to build off of. Not even an enthusiastic suspension option.

I agree it could be so much more.

Not marketing the most famous nameplate you have at all is insane. Toyota should offer some variants and actually market the truck. They market the hell out of the 4Runner.

A Land Cruiser is not THAT much more expensive than a loaded 4WD Tahoe any more. It’s crazy to let that name that is known worldwide basically die off in the US.

I work at a Lexus dealer and Lexus recently informed us this will be available in the US for the 2019 Model year. It will be called the LX 570 Inspiration series. Mainly cosmetic enhancements over a fully loaded LX 570. It will be introduced at the LA auto show later this month. MSRP $100,420. I think we will sell some of these in NYC.

On point. Looks likes it's nearly here - https://www.motortrend.com/news/2019-lexus-lx-inspiration-series-debuts/

A lukewarm attempt and I think the LX 570 S as pictured in my first post is a more cohesive and distinctive effort.

In Toyota news, the tame Camry and Avalon are getting a TRD variant.

Uh. Kills me that Toyota is glossing over the Land Cruiser. It even already exists:
