if i do the rebuild on the rochester and i don't get any results i'll put the aisen on (my friend's).
i'll make a page even of the results of two different rebuilt units.

oh yeah, is the aisen manual choke too? i hate that.
is there a way to get around this? something aftermarket
or something.... at all?

If you haven't done a complete tune-up start there. Clean air filter. Check hot air intake & heat control valve. Spark plugs & wires. Cap & rotor. Points gap & dwell. Timing. Mechanical & vacuum advance units. Adjust valves.
Set idle at 650. Compression test min. 110 lbs.

i had everything tuned when i had the DUI installed 6 months ago.
could the new ignition have "broken in" or something and made things out of wack?
maybe the mech didn't time it as good as he could of.

A tune-up doesn't last forever. If you have points you're lucky to get more than a few thousand miles between.
