Took me awhile to get here and it took me even longer to get some internet access after work. Rest assured though I am well. Holy Month of Ramadan here in Bahrain so no eatin', drinkin', or smokin' in public during the day ... and no alcohol at all. Found me a grocery store though that sells tortillas ... fat ones made by Egyptians. Better than the Mes'kin ones. Bootlegged me a case of Bud Light off the US Navy Base. Tortillas and beer ... just like bein' home By Gawd. Even finagled my way into one of the 4WD company trucks over here. Pretty water in the background is Gulf of Arabia. Rockpile is armor stone waitin' to be placed. Hard to see ... but the driver's rear is off the ground. Flex's like Fireman's Piggy. :flipoff2:

Tortillas and beer... uh! Now you mentioned that's somewhere in the middle east. Wow!

I had not heard from you in a while Sir... was alreedy thinking that the WT was going to need a new fearless leader. Ja! JA!

Glad you're OK Kowboy!

Have fun & be safe.

Oh yea.....DONT get thrown in jail.......we cant speak jiberish & Domek can't get enough vacation to try & bust you out posing as a native:rolleyes:

:flipoff2:

You know Clutchee, I never thought of that. Occassinally we see those Arabs around here.
They blending with the locals(Mes'kins), but once they start talking we can tell right away that they are not from here.

can't understand shxt of they are talking about.

You be good over there now! Don't steal anything either! They have a punishment that will make you not want (or be able) to steal anymore!

Later,

I know you're having a good time.
I just hope the boss is paying you well.

Cruiserdom hasn't collapsed in your absence, tho' there seems to be a lot more beer around since you left. Remember to set a good example while you're there. You might turn toward Elwood five times a day and nod your head. Everyone needs religion.

Happy Trails! N

Crazy deal over here. We got us 8 dredges digging and more headin' over soon. The King of Bahrain wants his island kingdom to be bigger so he's got us pumpin' up sand to extend the island out into the Gulf. Some of the land we're building is already sold ... and it ain't even land yet. :D

The King's got some serious bucks. :grinpimp:

Tryin' my damndest to stay outta jail ... they don't feed ya in there. :frown:

:flamingo:

Not sure the land can be bought on an individual lot basis. It's all part of a major Master Plan that has housing, casinos, golf courses, etc. ... all developed by major corporations. I know a small condo in one of the planned huge condo buildings is going for a million bucks (American). The bigger units aren't nearly as affordable. :grinpimp:

This whole country is being built by a labor force from Pakistan, Sri-Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, India, etc, etc, etc. Get 'bout hun'erd bucks (American) per month. Half that goes to room and board. Sign a two year contract and pay your own airfare. And one of my interpretors says they go home "rich".

The folks that are working for us get a lot better deal compared to these local standards.

Filled up the gas tank on my lil' 4X4 quad-cab Ranger today. Cost me 80 fils/liter ... ... and cash only. :crybaby:

So here we go class:

There's 1000 fils in a dinar.
Takes 2.65 dollars to get a dinar.
Takes 3.79 liters to make a gallon.

Weed thru all the cyperin' and 80 fil/liter = .80 dollars/gallon.

That's right Folks .... 80 cents per gallon. :bounce2::cheers::bounce2:

If I DID have My Junk here ... I could actu'ly afford to drive 'er. :grinpimp:

:flamingo:

Yeah... I remember the days of 79.9
"sigh"

Look at the bright side, you can bring back a jerry can full of the stuff and run your junk for about 30 minutes real cheap. I'm sure the folks at the airport won't bother with you luggin' a jerry can full of petrol. They just collect guns, knives, nail clippers, and such.

You coming home for ICBM?
Bring back one of those Arab hoody things. You'll need a mask for the Halloween run.

Happy Trails! N

My 30-day sentence is now completed.

It's 2030 here ... and 1230 in TX.

I gotta pack now and head to the airport. Flight leaves at 0140 local time. Got 7 hours in the air to London Heathrow. Then got 4 hours to go thru immigration/customs at Heathrow and take a bus over to London Gatwick. If'n I do make the flight ... gotta 10 hour ride to DFW. That puts me in at 1430 on Wednesday. :D

I'm lookin' forward to hittin' Elwood.

See y'all at ICBM on Thursday.
