I was gifted a winch a few years back- my foggy memory says I checked it out for function, & was working. I’m finally getting around to installing, and had a wire pull loose from one of the relay sockets. I “thought” I knew where it came from, de-pinned the socket & re-installed.

The wire harness is NLA, so I am trying to sort thru the schematic and verify correct connections. A PO was in here previously
(blue zip tie at socket)

As of today, the winch will spool out via the hand control, but will not spool back in. I can hear the relay click, but no motor action. I swapped the relays, no dice. I am not good with electrical, but am trying to learn more as I work on this old girl.

If anyone has a minute to help guide me thru some more troubleshooting, I would really appreciate it.

Cheers!

Oh, the wire that came loose was the doubled-up brown wire (?). I think I got it wrong, based on the schematic?

In looking more, I think I routed to brown wire from the solenoid to the wrong plug. Would be nice to have confirmation before I dig in again.
EDIT:

Looks like the other socket had the brown wires previously soldered into the connectors. I think I’m on the right track- just need to de-solder & re-wire, re-pin.

So, turns out the pigtail going into the buss bar solenoid had some solder fail at the connections. Spent time running continuity tests to isolate this. Tried to fix the broken solder joint, only to have the whole unit crap out on me. Ordering a new part to plug in- should fix it all up.
So much for a fun project for the weekend... :bang:
