@brooklyn I was wondering if you kept the old/original on/off switch or did you also upgrade the switch to a 70's model? Thanks and nice write-up.


OP hasn't been on mud for a while but he did mention getting as much a possible when you buy a wiper motor including the switch. Makes sense since the early switch is just on off. 68 was the first year for the wiper and two speed switch. That also includes the provision to turn the knob it operate a washer as well. Another option that is Handy to have is you use your cruiser much. In AZ long periods between rain and doesn't always rain hard. A long of dust a light rain using the wipers can make it worse.

Good point about the washer. I was not planning to add a washer, but you are right is is handy when you don't drive it much and the dust accumulates.
 
I kept the same switch and had no issues. Works great >> still thinking about intermittent control, but dozen or so other projects have to be done first :)
