Has anybody swapped windshield wiper system components from another vehicle for performance benefits? My wiper system works normal per everything I've ever seen from a truck wiper. I was wondering if a component swap could increase the high speed setting. Wiper blade quality is not my problem, just the time between passes. I'm taking a closer look at the system closer tomorrow (shorten a linkage mount, ext).

Resurrection for FJ60 folks.

I am wondering if i can use the early 90's 4runner linkage in the 85 cruiser. Looks like it should go, and the lengths look close, but there is a "cold weather rated" or HD version, and a standard version. Anyone out there know the diff, and if the entire linkage can be swapped over ? I don't know if it just means extra amp motor, or if the ball joints are different also.

If you have a definitave answer, you can post up on the 60 channel also.

here is a standard Dorman

"The cold weather starter is part of an optional "All Weather Guard Equip Package" code "CK", $75 (in 99). The package included "heavy-duty battery, heavy-duty starter, rain-channel windshield molding and heavy duty windshield wiper motor".
It was a stand alone option commonly bundled with the "SR5", "TRD" and "LTD" packages."
