Does anyone know how to get the rear windshield sprayer and the headlight sprayer to work on an 85 BJ70? I can’t seem to figure it out... thanks.

Is it a wiring problem or a plumbing problem?

The problem is, I don’t know how to activate the sprayer. I see the switch for the rear windshield wiper, but I don’t see how to get the sprayer to operate. Is there a separate switch? You know, you pull toward you on the wiper stalk on the steering column to get the front windshield sprayer to activate, but how do you get the rear to work?

Oh, I see. No manual available? On the later Toyotas, you twist the end of the wiper stalk to activate the rear wiper, and if you twist it past the first or last position (don't remember offhand) there's a momentary contact that runs the pump and opens the diverter valve for the rear washer.

But I really have no idea on a BJ70. Got a wiring diagram? Can you trace it back from the diverter valve to the switch?

So I feel really dumb, but I figured it out. The button in the picture (rear wiper switch) has to be pushed all the way and then it will spray. I just didn’t realize it had a momentary contact... thanks for the help!

Interesting - I've never seen a rocker switch with an additional momentary contact function like that. Would've puzzled me too!
