I'm replacing the window runs on my 1990 62. I got new ones front and back from toyotapartsdeal.com. The rear worked perfectly fine and accomplished what I had hoped, the window is tighter and goes up and down much faster. The front don't appear to be the same as what I removed. The forward edge ends a couple inches above where in goes into the door. The old one was a good 6 inches longer on the forward side, the rear or posterior leg is a little longer but otherwise ok.

Has anyone used these?? There are supposed to be factory and the labeling looked toyota.

I could easily install them and just not push the second part down as far into the door so they butted together where the other ended. I'm just not sure how well that would work.

Appreciate any ideas.

Post some pics (im a visual person) of what you are experiencing. Also, I think the front runs may be slightly different between a 60 and 62, so you could have inadvertently received the 60 version. @beno

I'll try and post pictures this weekend.

Basically what's happening is the front part of the run that goes down into the door by the mirror ends about 3 inches or so above where the window goes into the door. The factory run I took out continues a good 4-6 inches into the door. Then there is a gap of a few inches and another run continues further down to near the bottom of the fully retracted window. Difficult to explain but would be easy to see in pics. The forward part of the run is considerably shorter than the factory run.

I noticed the new oem window runs were longer than the originals I removed

I have also noticed that the window chanel on my driver door, had moved(to the rear of the door) a good bit over the years, basically leaving a larger gap at the front of the window where the run meets.

The ones I got the back leg is a bit longer but the front is considerably shorter.

Think I used the same part # for both runs. Both originals were same size(shorter)

I have all the other WS for all doors but only have done the runs for far.

Update and some advice/tips:

1) I'm an idiot. The runs are fine as is. I just needed to turn it the other way, from the molded corner, short leg down the back and longer goes forward. This actually gives you a little longer run in the front and you'll likely need to cut off a couple inches to accommodate the other run that is straight and just goes down into the door. Mine butt up perfectly a couple inches down into the door. It's easy to see where they should meet looking down into the door.

2) You should be able to replace the runs without removing or unbolting the glass. I put mine up a couple inches above the door where I could grab it to move back and forth a little as needed.

3) Use plenty of alcohol or glass cleaner sprayed on the back of the run and down the run channel to aid in sliding. I can't imagine it'll hurt the rubber and it dries quickly, more importantly it really aids in sliding the run in around the glass.

4) Results are worthwhile. My windows were all slow, 10-12 count going up and a couple would occasionally not make it all the way without help. Now they are up about twice as fast no assistance required.
Also there is a very noticeable decrease in rattle with slamming the doors. Now just a solid closing.

5) Don't be me and pay attention to what you are doing.

** I've got another set of front runs, not including the short piece that goes in the door. I'm probably going to list in classified for like $100 shipped.
