I'm getting close to purchasing a 1971 FJ-55 (pictured below). Note arrow in picture. For this window, does it roll down or is it stationary? In studying the picture more closely it doesn't appear to be a "fold out" type vent window. Just curious! Thanks.

Thanks! It's definitely a low-rust pig. I look forward to having enough money in a few years to do a complete frame-off on it. Living in GA I should be able to contain the rust until I can get the whole truck redone. In the meantime I'm going to enjoy the heck out of it.

Thanks for the insight on the window. Awfully big window to be stationary! Did Toyota do that intentionally to minimize buffeting, I wonder?

Git it!

Ha, now my turn, hey buddy hurry up and buy it before someone steals it out from under you. You drive it and enjoy the heck out of her and then latter on when time sapce and money all line up do that resto on her. :)

Never have enough pig, its like too much money, too pretty, too much horespower, no such thing as too much pig!

Look what is below the "big" fixed window... that nice high sweeping door arc. That prevents the rolling window from being wider.

That is also one expensive chunk of rubber to replace :P

That wound up being a  moment for me once you pointed it out!!! Thanks!!

The good news is that when I get the Pig it'll have a good collection of replacement rubber and lots of other parts ready to go. I just hope they haven't dry rotted - I certainly appreciate how expensive all the replacement rubber on these things is!

The current owner (a close family friend of my fiancee's) bought it to restore but ran out of time, energy and interest. He has plenty of other Cruisers to keep him busy. So, I'm looking to step in and take over on this one.

Can't wait to get started!
