My BJ41 is running with 24v, and a friend of mine is lending me his warn winch 10,000 lbs 12v. I have a 24-12v converter 30 amps. Would the power of my converter sufficient for that winch? Is there any other way or modification I can do to run the 12v winch to my 24v rig? Thanks!:)

Ha... no, more like 300-500 amps depending on the winch.

FWIW, I've heard of guys running 12v winches on 24v with the intention of replacing the motor when it goes, only to find that it holds up well to the extra voltage (and goes like hell). That might be limited to the 8274s though, not sure how much extra heat the bump in voltage would generate.

@ rockdoc, thanks. really? It will hold the 24v power? I just googled that it will need atleast 400 amps of power.
