Will these Yakima towers fit an 80?

My father in law ran these on an old Cressida in the early '90's. I'm not sure if they are the Yakima 1A's or not. I know they don't look like newer 1A's. Could they be an older model? Any one know what they are, or more importantly, if they'll fit my LX450?

I don't think that those towers will fit your Cruiser. Those look like Q towers and for your Cruiser you will need the 1A's. The 1A's will even fit over the factory rack (at least they do on my '93 FZJ80).

I just had another thought- does your LX have rain gutters like the 80's? If you don't have rain gutters those might fit if you buy the correct Q clips.

Nope...no fit...

These are for gutterless roof tops... will not fit an 80... ebay'em...the clips being refered to are those bent metal looking thing off the side...they are bent for different roof line applications... the towers are not vehicle specific, just those clips... as said before, those towers are for rides w/out gutters...

Yep I agree, they will not fit. You have a couple of Sports Rack Vehicle Outfitters stores in your area - they will usually take Yakima trades. One's in Belleview and the other is on Aurora near Greenlake. You could swap those towers for the correct ones.

Be sure to keep the locks or you will just have to buy new ones. The dealer can pop them out if you don't have one of the special blank keys that is required.

Yep, That location will have it... I bought my vehicle specific clips for my Q towers at that store when I lived out there. Be prepared to pay the highest price they can possibly be sold for though But... gotta pay for convienence.
