Will (5) 285/70/17 fit in rear storage area?

hello,

I have the opportunity to pick up 5 285/70-17 BFGs for a great deal, but I’m on a road trip with my family.

Will 5 285/70-17 Tires fit in the rear, with 3rd row seats removed and the second row filled with people?

Tires should be 32.5 tall x 11.2 wide. Anyone have experience??

It seems like it putting them vertically, spanning the width 4 would be easy, and maybe the the fifth could squeeze somehow.

I like @Reckless 's idea.

If you're still in a pinch, get yourself a hitch carrier. They sell them everywhere, from Home Depot, Walmart, Harbor Freight. $60-120. They're handy to have, or you can just easily sell it on craigslist when you get back home.

If the tires are not mounted that changes the game. Mounted, forget it. If they are not mounted just UPS them.

Agreed, the third and second row seats have to come out. I got 5 mounted and 5 unmounted inside.

Well, four unmounted fit easily. Five did not. So I scored 4 brand new 285/70/17 for $600

Didn’t have the time to figure out the fifth and had other gear and my family on the trip.
