Does anyone here gather wild mushrooms?

I'm talking about the culinary kind specifically, but I've picked my share of the "magic" variety as well...

I want to go out and find some morels this weekend, as I've never found them before (actually, I found 4 in the neighbor's front yard a couple years ago...). Now seems to be about the right time in the Sierra.

I've had Boletus and Chanterelles quite a bit but not the elusive morel.

I have witnessed what happens with the 'bad gather'. Not a pretty sight, and a helo evac to a tag on the toe..

Love the shrooms, but only if store bought, or home grown.:meh:

you gotta know what you're eating...the worst ones won't even kill you for a couple weeks- you won't know it's too late till it's too late. Fortunately, there are plenty of good eats that look nothing like the bad ones. just steer clear of those with deadly look-a-likes. Your Morels, bolets and chantrells are pretty good for that....and remember, all mushrooms are magical- but only some make you see things...they really will save the world....

I've heard Pigs are good at sniffing out mushrooms? ?

Maybe clean the S3x wax out of the snout?

Or get an FJ55?
