Let me see some pics of wide front fenders. I have only seen one with stock looking wide front.

I think yours came out looking great. What did you add, 3"?

Aqualu makes nice stock fenders these days, but I think their wide ones are still the older angular style.

In VA we get ticketed if the tires stick out too far so I had to widen mine too. Mine are tube fenders that are supposed to look semi-stock (for the rocks). Here's a pic:

I never got any heat about not having fenders this summer, and i drive it 4-5 times a week in the summer.

CO is pretty lax about those sorts of things.. (just don't run on road without a front License plate) ;)

im going to build some small tube flares/Fenders, but make them as low profile as possible!

I like the bigger fenders for daily driving, but it would be nice if they came off for hard core trail runs and not look goddy.

As mentioned by Flyinglow, lots of trees up here that wreak havic on even tube fenders.

And the federalies are very strict about fender coverage.

I built exactly that on my last project truck. I cut the fenders at the apron and reinforced the lip, then built a quick release tab so the fenders could be removed for wheeling. You can see the lip and rearmost mounting bolt in this pic. I don't know if I have pics of the fenders, but this is the truck:

NE40, are you one of the guys that was loitering around my mustard '78 40 when I came out of the GI Menards last summer? Reguardless it's nice to see another Central Ne. 40 owner on Mud. As I'm sure you already know, they're as rare as hens teeth around here.

I have only seen 3 other 40's in GI. Here are some update pics.

NE40, your fenders look good!

it´t the same in Germany, wouldn´t get the car on the road with tires sticking out...and I don´t like stones and mud destroing the car slowly driving a lot dirt roads...

we had to add quite a lot to cover the 80 axels and 37", would have liked it better less wide..

Hey,
First your fenders look great. I especially prefer the nice clean line from front to back. I really like the rear ones better than the black plasticccy ones from j**ps.

What is "that" called? Everyone fills their cooler, gets together at the local river, and drives down it? Back home, we use boats for such occaions ;p Quite the sight, I've never seen so many rigs in the water like that, I'm sure its a blast though!

I was looking at the pictures and scratching my head. What the hell? Driving down the river drinking beer with 20 other rigs? Where do you live?

Ewheeler is right, I would rather do that in a raft or a boat.

Well I'm not from Nebraska nor do I live there but I get what they are doing and it looks cool to me.I have almost identical pics of a guy getting stuck in a river crossing half a world away. Here are some shots from my local club's last get together with five clubs from Guatemala.

About the river, we do not have any trails close and the water is a challenge. Most of the time we are to the rockers with water on rigs with 35's. The river bottom changes every week and makes it a "new trail" with soft spots and holes moving all the time.

And for the Environmentalists, we take more trash home then we bring to the river. We are like the guys in the orange suits on the side of the HWY, cleaning as we go:steer:

The fenders do not look as wide as they did before I got paint on them. Top and doors will come off when it gets warm, so they did not get paint. Hope to paint it Olive this winter, love that color.
