‘79 fj40, desmogged, Weber 38 carb. Just started leaking fuel at the side of the carb, about a drop every 20 seconds. I tried tightening 4 screws around it, but no luck. Started once engine got warm, and still dripping after cooldown. Any idea what would cause it to leak here, and what’s needed to fix.

Not a Weber guy. Is that the accelerator pump? I would take it off and make sure both the surfaces are clean and flat. Inspect the gasket and diaphragm for cracks.

Yeah, it is the accelerator pump. I’m guessing the pump diaphragm has gone bad. Just didn’t know if there was anything else I should be replacing while in there. I disassembled, cleaned and put back together, a year ago, but didn’t replace this part.
