So I am at work today, just doing a system check at Ritchie Bros Auctioneers in Surrey and I see this grey HJ60 in the distance getting in line with the rest of the auction stuff. So I had to go check it out:

It's definitly local and has been for a while, the frame was redone from the front doors back (all of it), the outside does not look bad but underneath the usual rust. I am guessing the body has been worked on. It's auto with the 2H, 313000km, the inside is a little moldy. has a lift and stock tires. Curious what it will go for at auction.

put a bid in on it. Might score a deal. Make money, or sell it for a cheap price to another cruiser head.

buy it Jeff! complete your rust collection!

Don't let Mud_Groupie give you a bad time, Jeff, you are way ahead of the wave....your collection is green (mould) and bio-degradable! Look at the brighter side--instead of the recycler having to take it, you can just sweep them away, bit by bit, and let the sanitation dept take care of it for no extra charge!

sorry, I stand corrected

It might go cheap depending who's at the auction. It could also go for way more than what it's worth. A few years back there was a rotted out mazda diesel 2wd pickup that I was interested in for driving to work. I thought it might go for around $500. It ended up goingfor $2100. I remember the auctioneer chuckling a bit as I was shaking my head in disbelief. Looking back it's probably better I didn't buy it. Would have only been useful as a yard truck, it wasn't really roadworthy.

The guy I work with ended up putting his nissan p/u into the auction, high kilometers, burning oil (20W50 to boot), rusty, the floor boards were almost entirely gone, and some other broken stuff. It went for $1700.00, some people just don't think.

As for making the 60 into something hardcore - no time, no space, no money. Other then that, sure, I'll get on it right away :D

it's way to easy to over project yourself.

I have to paint my house this summer, paint the cupboard in the kitchen, build casings all around the house, paint the basment rec room, and finish a cruiser rebuild.

I need another project like a hole in my head. To top it off I have "now" three boys all under 2.5 yrs old. Wife had a baby a couple days ago... :) good times :)

'gratz. Sounds like you have your hands full ;)
