Well here are a few pics of the topless 42 at the Whipsaw, in Princeton BC on the August 22nd/23rd WE. Please note the new EMU lift and near bald 33" pizza cutters.
Although Greg Van Tol and I were accompanied by a Brono Two and and XJ, I did not feel it appropriate to show photos of these rigs for obvious reasons.
This was my first time running the saw in a topless 40. It was fun until the bikini top blew off outside of Princeton and the rains hit on the No. 1 around Chilliwack. Then it was a riot. My brother snapped a picture of us in fll raingear. The Toyota engineers unfortunately forgot to account for wipers on the inside of the windshield. Those of you who drive or have driven a 40 will know what I mean. We also pulled an F350 van and trailer out of the sand on the highway.
Power steering, while a luxury, is not absolutely necessary on the trail. At least this is true of the Whipsaw. On other trails, well . . . I think in time I'd like to add it.
Perhaps you were wondering if the bugs were bad or if the locals were unruly. Answer: No idea because we stayed in the Sandman Inn both nights. The trail conditions were fairly tame all in all. In fact, the mud hole and other wet sections were surprisingly dry. The tough spot was the rock slab beacuse our tires were quite gummed-up with mud and traction was fairly limited.
YEEE HAW,
Can't wait till next year.
Greg and I are also thinking of a day trip to Chipmunk and a short hike up Cheam (how you say this I have no clue!)
