Which Transmission

I have a 1984 FJ45 Troopy from Australia. Does anyone know which 4 speed these came with or how I can tell which one it is? H41 etc.?

You could check on the VIN plate inside the firewall. There is a place where it lists "Trans/Axle" and it should say H41 or whichever.

Of course, that only tells you what was installed at the factory. If a PO has made changes, the firewall plate info won't be of any help.

I've never seen an H42 down here in the Nanny State. The only two gear boxes I've ever seen in the 40 series are the H41 and the H55. If yours is a 4 speed, I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that it's an H41.
