Which Transmission?

A question for anyone out there. Iam looking to purchase an HJZ77 and would like to perform a transplant from the 1HZ to a 1HDFT. Iwould also like to intercool this motor and turn up the boost.
My question is which transmission would hold up better with the power/torque increase? Auto or 5 Spd?

Ive never seen a valid argument for one over the other. Both the auto and manual are well regarded.
