This Toyota wagon gets better gas mileage. But it is a 94 so it might be a little too new for you. Once you put a lift and some 33s on, it probably will only get 22 miles per gallon!   and another

Good luck!

Do the 60s or 62s have any big-ticket routine maintenance items, like a timing belt that needs replaced every 30K miles? Also, can anyone give me a ball-park estimate of how much it would cost to have an engine and (separately) a transmission rebuilt by a knowledgable mechanic?

No timing belt. Front axle rebuild is a common need on these trucks. You could pay up to $400-1000 for a shop to do it for you. Transmission rebuild: 1500-3000. Engine: 3K and up. These are just figures I've seen around this forum as I have no personal experience!
