Thought we might add to our where to eat thread, read a book thread and put a where to stay thread together.
So when you go somewhere let us know how the hotel, B&B, camp site etc was and the proximity to cool stuff.

I just got back from OKC. We stayed in Bricktown area downtown.

Residence Inn Oklahoma City Downtown/Bricktown: Oklahoma City Extended Stay Hotels

The hotel was across the street from the baseball stadium and a block away from all the bars and restaurants in Bricktown. There is a very nice theater across the parking lot as well.
The hotel was the same cube you would stay in at Dallas, Springfield or Hartford but it was new and had everything you need to stay 5 nights.

The Bricktown area is alot of fun.

What? You were in OKC for a week and didn't tell me? I'm 10 minutes from downtown. That hurts. ;p

Bricktown is cool. Places you should have visited:

Bricktown Brewery is OK, and convenient. In house brews are a little lame, IMO.

And then there's

Earl's Rib Palace--phenomenal BBQ, with a Bricktown location Earl's Rib Palace

McNellie's Public House--best beer selection in town James E. McNellie's Public House - Oklahoma City Restaurant Review of James E. McNellie's Public House in Midtown's Plaza Court

Belle Isle Brewing is excellent Belle Isle Restaurant & Brewery - Oklahoma City's Finest Hand-Crafted Beers

51st Street Speakeasy--old time neighborhood pub with outstanding craft beers on tap. Good pub grub too.

51st Speakeasy | Oklahoma City Bar and Grill on Classen

The OKC Zoo is excellent, and you could easily spend an entire day touring the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum

National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum

And of course you have to visit Cruiser Corps ;)

Next time, lemme know. :D:beer:

I was there on a tire trip Lee.
Good info to know. I was at Tap Works every night. Lots of good beer there.

You know I wasn't really offended, right? You'd have had a hard time finding me, unless I knew in advance you were coming.

You did good. Tapwerks is one of the top 3 pubs in town. Great selection of craft brews. It gets mighty loud in there. It's certainly the most convenient quality watering hole if you're staying in Bricktown. Too bad you weren't able to see an OKC Thunder playoff game while you were there. Their arena is just down the street. The baseball park is very cool too.

Went to Sunday night baseball game. Some in my group went to game 1 Tuesday night. I would like to have gone but $350 a ticket in the top ring was high for a guy that didn't know a players name before that game...

We ate at some cool Mexican food joint with some pretty cool cats in Bricktown once.!!!!!!

Yep, we ran up for the afternoon and met Chris and Deb for lunch. Place had awesome steak fajitas.

White Trash of the Elwood Chapter, TORC4x4.org, Cottonland Cruisers.
