Where to hook up Tach on 82 toyota to set idle

The ignition coil, that's the location for a stock first-gen tach feed.

If you've got a FSM, feel free to use that, otherwise, I'll take a look at mine, and post up later.

Yeah, man!

for me, there are two wires coming out the base of the coil, they tie into a Toyota connector that leads through a bulkhead plug into the cab behind the gauges.

If your tach's in good shape, then it's worth splicing it back into those lines, and keeping around. I'm pretty sure I use my tach more than anything. Especially now that i don't have a speedometer.:frown:

Yeah My tach is fried. Hasn't moved since I bought the truck. I figure I will just buy a used one that still works one of these days. would be nice to have. but for now I just need to know rpms...I will look at those wires and try to hook into one of those and see if my dianostic one will pick up a reading.
