Whenever The 20004's Really Run Out, Whaddabout This?

I have that same performance products catalog. The ad claims to filter to 45 microns in one part of add and to .45 microns in another part. 45 microns isn't better than any other paper filter. This filter is not a bypass filter. I use a trasco oil filter. (trasco-usa.com) which is better than a paper filter but not a true bypass. I get excellent oil analysis results with it so I know its not snake oil. However I got almost as good results with the cheep toyota filter (not the 20004). Hell with all the oil these trucks hold a cheap fram would probably do.

Bruneti,

I don't see where it says it's a bypass filter that can filter only a fraction of the engine's flow?? I read where it says it filters 100% of the flow.

Good point on the 40 microns, then elsewhere 45 microns. There are a few typos, etc as well. Just seems kinda - dunno. I want precision, OK? Precision from a company that's going to filter my engine oil. Guys with pocket protectors, executives who demand the best and who pore over their publicly viewed materials, etc. This just doesn't say it.

Doug,
I think we are talking about different filters. Post #13 referred to a link for another filter that I was commenting on. I had the quote in my post to "hopefully" avoid confusion. That link takes you to what is definitely a bypass filter from envirokleen. I was NOT making my comment in reference to the Trufilter product in posts #1,2,and 3. That one is a full-flow filter. And a very fancy looking one at that. Too fancy to fiddle with every oil change imho.

I've seen this type of setup for fuel filters, but that doesn't get changed nearly as frequently. I agree with others who would rather just toss a messy used filter. I would only use that product on a show car. I'll give them bonus points for originality, but a slight deduction for practicality. (too much Olympics in the last 2 weeks)

Bruneti,

Gotcha. I'm liking the Olympic system. Perhaps it would be appropriate for them to get a high degree of difficulty for bringing this to market, but an average score for the concept, eh??

I think they screwed up in not having a couple LEDs on it, and I am only partly joking - bling crowd would have to have this on their VVT-i engines...
