i have a sound, what i believe to be is bad front wheel bearings. i have looked at the marlin kit and all pro kit. they look to be the same, however the marlin kit says an additional hub seal is needed. all pro does not say this. it is on an 88 pickup. i also plan on doing new hub dial seals and probably spring and ball in the locking hubs.

can someone fill me in on whether one kit is better than the other and where the additional hub seal goes. looking at the fsm, would the oil seal in front of the dust cover be the one they are talking about?

also do you have to take out the cv axle when doing this? and are there any suprises, things i should look for other that what is in the fsm?

thanks

You need a round one with round holes, one shaped like a star, and the rear wheel seal which is metal ith a rubber inside. Either Kit should work fine. Just did mine with Marlin seals.

and since no one else answered you do not have to pull your axles, unless you are going to replace that seal where the axle goes into the spindle, maybe that is the other seal, they are referring to :hhmm:

im not losing diff oil but i have a "wah wah wah wah" sound as im driving, sometimes intermittent but speeds up and slows down with accel and decel and going around curves.

i also think i have spindle bushing going bad.
