Since it's slow like Smitty said... i was wondering how often do you guys re-pack and maintain your wheel bearings? The rig is heavier than ever and it's important to pay attention to this.

Since it's slow like Smitty said... i was wondering how often do you guys re-pack and maintain your wheel bearings? The rig is heavier than ever and it's important to pay attention to this.

For me, it's front and rear axle jobs once a year. I check bearings for nicks, gauges, etc. If all is ok, I pack and put them back in. Trunion bearings tend to last a bit longer--they generally stay in the knuckle for about two-three repacks.

I don't do this regularly. I'll go and check for play and weird noises every so often,though....

of course, I only put 3K miles or so on it every year....
