Just got a valve job done and the engine is quiet enough for me to hear more noises. Any ideas? Same noise present when belts and fan was off. It also has a fresh short block in it with less than 10k on it.
Update: pulled ps pump and that wasn’t it. It’s a click / tick that doesn’t become louder with higher rpm. When I have the stethoscope on the timing chain cover and upper oil pan I can hear it the most. Oil pump?
