I seem to recall Jim Phillips posting on this a while back. IIRC, power was reduced (and presumably torque too), though economy was up. You might want to PM him and ask him about it.

Scamper,

Power is usualy reduced but only maesured at 3%-5% which most would not notice and I think that some of the best Multy Point Injection systems over come this.

Jim Phillips' 80 had an LPG conversion. The tank was in the boot. His was also able to use petrol so his was a true dual-fuel setup

Dan,

The majority of LPG conversions over here still allow the the use of petrol (gas) and are therfore duel fuel.
Normaly starting is done on petrol and the system automaticaly changes over to LPG and reverts for starting,k the better Multy Point systems can I believe start on LPG and so need no petrol at all. Some poeple opt to have the main fuel tank replaced with a very small one to allow more tanks of LPG to be fitted so as to take maximum advantage of the cost advantage of LPG in the UK.

Snowwolfwarior,

I believe you asked about fuel gauges for LPG, I recall that usually LED lights are mounted on the dash which indicates the quantity of fuel in the tank(s) together with a manual override to allow for choice of fuel.

Hi GF.... yes this is a duel fuel system, starts on fuel and reverts to LPG It costs £2156.00 and takes 5 days to install that means if I do have it fitted, to make sense I would have to keep the car 2 years to reap any benifits, i'm all in a quandry at what to do, if I could have done right now, I could make the decision, but its a 3 week waiting time with a deposite, I'm a person that if I make a decision, I want it to happen very quickly

snowwlfwarior,

Consider looking around a little more and talk to a few of the specialists by phone rather than e-mail and see if they can tell you what it is about there system is best. It may be just possible to get a very good system for a few £ less if you are prepared to shop around and perhaps travel. IMHO buy now the sooner the better if you have the funds your new found economy may allow you to cover more miles than projected and I believe that the City of London charges on vehicles coming into the City are waved to LPG vehicles and you live just down the road from London. Another advantage often over looked is the benefits to the longevity of the engine, as the oil stays cleaner because it is not polluted by fuel oil by passing the rings.

I will have a longer look round and do some comparisons, the tank will fit in place of the underslung spare wheel and is the shape of the tyre anf wheel with a capacity of 75 litres, you can have a larger tank of 95 litres but it costs £175 more as the floor in the boot is raised by 3", I don't think I would want that tho.

They also do cylinders of verious capacities you may get several in the same space or down th side along the chasis rails.
