What year is my BJ40?

I have a BJ40 which started its life in Africa and was then imported to the UK. I have no idea what year it is. Can anyone suggest a date based on these clues:

Sticker on Engine says BJ 64
Chassis Number:BJ40030425
Engine Number: 1314XD14

It is a left hand drive and the front has the old shape grill...

Any ideas? Cheers, Jim

BJ40003365 is a 1977 so it's later (newer) than that.

the grill was changed for 1979 in US sold gas models. Not sure if that change was worldwide.

Check the tag on the seat belts if they are original.

Here is a good link to a site with all VIN info for BJ's. This is how I determined mine was an 81. The PO thought it was an 82. MAN the internet is great!
