What winch(s) fit the ARB Sahara bar?

On a related note, anyone know how to get synthetic rope on an ARB/winch combo? ARB USA says not to run Hawse fairleads with their bumpers and if you look at how the winch fairlead is recessed into their newest bumpers (including all the 100 bumpers) you'll see that a roller fairlead is pretty much all that will work in there. Anyone come up with anything creative to run rope and a Hawse? I would prefer the lower weight and safety of this if possible.

Maybe you could fab up some kind of spacer block and mount the Hawse more flush on the face of the bumper? I dunno. Maybe it's a lost cause.

Thanks,

i'm running amsteel on a M8000 w/ a roller fairlead in my sahara bar and it's working fine. no pinches and no damage to the line.

a spacer is available, but from whom, i don't know....

Call ARB at 206-264-1669 and ask them. I know there are some limitations on the Sahara Bar.

bamachem, do you really not know who made the spacer?

Shame on me, I forgot the poser shots ;)

No mods to make fit. I did not have the correct selnoid bracket, so I made do with another from some other ARB bar(no clue what, just dug thru box) worked fine.

looks good. now get some welding cable and some crimps and move that solenoid box under the hood for protection from vandals (they take the hook up and over the cab, hook it to your hitch, then jump the box w/ a paperclip and it crushes the cab). then you can put the cover panel back on to keep the winch line out of the sun. after that, slap a coat of Toyota Black w/ some clear on there cause, DAMN, that thing clashes w/ that funky color! i still need to move my solenoid box out from under my bumper, but i'll get it done soon. that runner in the pic above isn't mine. this is mine:

like i said before, that 100 looks good. sometime in the next 6 or 8 months, the wife and i will be picking up a 99 or maybe a 00 (i prefer the 99) and i'd like it to have a sahara bar as well. hopefully, i'll get a good deal on one. the 100 will have sliders and a mild lift, but it will be for very light wheeling and mostly on road commuter for her. i want the bumper and sliders for traffic protection for her and my son as much as offroad protection.

i honestly have no idea... that runner belongs to "Bratik" on yotatech.

email him at 4runner@wecool.net - i think it's something he bought...

i took my roller fairlead apart, painted the rollers w/ a rubberized coating, then reassembling it. it works OK, but it's starting to peel some and needs to be repainted.

it wouldn't be hard to make, just a matter of getting the holes lined up and designing it so it's easy to mount...

Connie has a ARB bar on on her fj62.....she wants for for the LX ;)

I didn't even notice it was a 4runner(untill now).......what a tard I am
