Well I know i have been afk for a while, just to much going on at home. I just finally got to figure out what happened to Oswald several months ago...

turns out i came up with a great way to remove the wheel from the truck without taking off the lug nuts....

Well atleast this is better then having to drop in a new tranny or rear diff...

loose lug nuts? Drivers side? or did you have spacers on it?

It is on the Drivers Side (RHD truck) and the lugnuts were tight. I used spidertrack spacers on it with new lug nuts torque to the correct specs. I just think that the 29yo bolts could not stand up to the stress. I'm just glad this is a FF rear... otherwise it would have been real bad...

I've seen drivers side (right side in normal vehicles) rear tire pass us before when using a spacer and a locker. the locker kept apparently torquing it somehow and it got loose. I was just curious about the side.
Locker or not? At least it's an easy fix and nobody got hurt!

Wow. Glad you're ok. My mechanic refused to put spacers on my truck (long time ago) because he thinks they are dangerous. Now I know why.

I'm very glad that my son and I are ok. I had just dropped him off at school 15 minutes before i think the final one broke. As for the spacers, I'm just happy i had them on there, if not for the spacer then the wheel would have fallen off. I'm not sure the spacer caused it yet...

Yeah I wouldn't use spacers either after seeing what happend to Fogblanket at the Fall Gathering this year. He was lucky he was able to drive the LV home.

Man, what i miss being away for a while...

Got any close-ups of the fractured studs?

that is next. it looks the my that metal fatique killed 5 of them when I tightened them down or soon after, and that one was left holding the wheel.

I have a new set of Marlin spacers which 2manycruisers just forded to me from home.... maybe they will stay in the box. Wow. Glad you are alright.
