What kind of dog don't you have...?

So it happens frequently but not very often?

No.

"...common in whippets...rare to occur." - which I meant to say that this mutation is common in whippets (common in whippets=commonly associated with this specific breed, as opposed to any other), but rarely occurs (rarely=happens infrequently).

So is it commonly infrequent in whippets or frequently incommon in whippets?

It is commonly associated with an infrequent whippet...no, wait: it is infrequently uncommon for a whippet to associate...

Let me try this again:

It is a common infrequency to associate with an incommon (where did you get that word?) delinquent whippet...

It is an infrequent whippet to be associated with a rare common mutation...

It is frequent to associate a rare whippet with a common mutation...

I give up.

I don't have one of these.

That dog had sand kicked on it by a group of larger dogs while tanning at the beach when it was a puppy.

It would still get its ass kicked by this dog, though...

That clears up everything!

I don't have a dog that gets on the furniture, or wears a bandanna.

I do have a dog that barks at the mailman and keeps cats out of the yard and squirrels in the trees.

He spends a lot of time holding his bed down to the floor with his body.

I don't have a Newfoundland. We researched for months what dog to get, wife and daughter decided on a newf, based on the super sluggish one down the street. Ours was super energetic, and damn stubborn. Not a good combination in a smallish bear of a house animal. I still like newfs, we just got a bad one.
