I received this with other things in a recent trade. I have no idea what it is.

Early Land Cruisers had starters that looked like like. Pretty sure they could find pictures in the 25 section.

Quick search in the 25 section of the single word "STARTER" brings up a few threads with pictures of the early Nippon Denso starter. If you want could take some detailed pictures but the ones I've seen show a starter solenoid that looks like the one you have.

I Have also seen this part referred to as a " Plunger " in a old TOYOTA OEM print media
