Hi all,

I have an '08 LX 570. Beautiful vehicle all around but it is 11 years old now and there are some bumps and bruises. The scratched up rear center console thing pictured here drives me crazy. Anyone know where I could get a replacement? I've tried searching but I dont even know what to search for.

Edit: I'd like to find just the cupholder lid that is scratched in the picture, not the entire console/seatback.

Thanks!

The picture thumbnail on the Lexus parts websites is worthless, but I believe it's 66990-60020-B0. I would double check with your dealer.

Thanks for the replies. Brass key I will talk to the dealer about that part #. Although $150 is pretty steep for a cosmetic part. Not sure I will drop that much coin.

Weedhopper - you really think I would have any luck at a junkyard? These vehicles are very rare in my area. I might see another 200 series LX only a couple times a year here in Cincinnati.

Although it’s a long shot, some elbow grease and Plastix might make enough of a difference so you didn’t have to buy new. I had great success with it when getting some fairly deep dog scratches out of my kayak. I assume that part is hard plastic. Further, you might be pleased with just a good car wax on that. Hint: use a new razor blade flat on the scratches first to remove the feathered plastic along the sides of the scratches.

Any type of polishing will damage the textured finish - but - while it will end up looking "different" from new, it may be perfectly nice. If it doesn't look good, then it'll be prepped for a vinyl wrap (or a piece of wood veneer). Or you could send it off to get it Hydrodipped

Another idea would be to cover that piece with vinyl wrap - possibly finding something that matches fairly closely or maybe contrasts tastefully. That would be inexpensive but it would look nice.

I just did that piece (and the rest of the wood trim) in ‘brushed steel’ vinyl. Came out looking great.

$20 and an hour of your time (there is a learning curve with vinyl for sure).

I have had some luck with similar marks and a heat gun. It does not repair the scratches but it de-emphasizes them significantly and with a bit of interior detailer it can provide a very acceptable finish. The good news is you’ve got nothing to lose. It’s all messed-up anyways.

If heat fails try vinyl wrap, truck bed liner, PlastiDip or getting a new/used one.
