I'm looking to buy an RV trailer to live in full time, so I want the maximum possible living space while still being able to move it occasionally. I have a diesel so it should handle the weight fine, but I've heard stability can be an issue for longer trailers with the shorter wheel base on the 100. I won't be towing often so I don't mind if I need to take it slow, but I may do some long distance moves around BC Canada and through the mountain passes. Assuming it has a weight distribution hitch, can I safely pull a 28-31 foot trailer? Or should I keep it under 26?

From what I've seen 20-22. My friends parents camper is 26 and it tail-wagged like hell.
And yes/no about how much you can tow. There is only about 100lbs more you can do with the diesel and still be legal.

GVWR (Max total weight) Truck/passengers/fuel/trailer)
Diesel 3260kg (7190lbs) - Petrol/Gas 3110kg (6860lbs) (Rounded up lbs to nearest 10) ?D=isel can do 330lb more.
But... the diesel weighs more than the gas. 5622lb vs 5401lb empty. 221lb more weight than the gas. Drops total weight you can tow legally to 109 extra lbs that the diesel can do over the gas one.

But those are just the curb weights I found online. Go get the truck weighed at a CAT scale and subtract that number from the GVWR on the plate under your hood to know exactly what you could legally tow. 👍
