what is the adapter called that seperates from headphone jack?

I need an adapter to go from my Sirius headphone jack into the left and right high input of my amp. The picture is of an RCA jack separating into a right side +/- and a left side +/-. I need one that adapts to a headphone jack instead of the RCA jack. Only problem is I need the exact name or the parts jockies at Radio Shack are clueless.

Anybody know a specific name for these?

It's sometimes called a Y splitter.

You'll need to know the size and gender of the connections.

I looked up its skirt....unfortunately it was male

Type in 274-019


This will bring up a seven-foot Mini Stereo male to male RCA connectors.


I have multiples of this exact item and they work.

Thanks Poser. That adapter is for low input. I need one for high input. Those are harder to find.

i wouldn't think a non amplified sirius box can put out high output and that adapter would be perfectly fine.

I'm running my Sirius receiver directly into my amp since I can control volume from the receiver. I spent a a good amount of time looking for an adapter, but they all seem to end in RCA jacks. I will have to strip the RCA ends and wire directly into the high input of the amp. I just don't like to have to rig it to work.

ok so you want to go from female mini headphone/aux recep in the serius box to screw terminal on the speaker level input (non rca low level) input to the amp? what are you hoping for on the connection on the amp side for your adapter cord? i would have thought it was bare wire like you would do in stereo install if you weren't using RCA? maybe i'm just at heart but i would have thought you were good cutting off the RCA and using the wire?

fyi there is nothing unique about sirius if you have the mini headphone jack, you could insert smartphone, ipod, laptop, portable 8 track in your search for adapters.

since my serious receiver has volume control, I can wire directly into amp. I just stripped the ends of the RCA jacks. Works fine.
