What is proper tire PSI / TPMS question

I have Goodyear Wrangler AT Adventure tires. 285 / 55 / R20 on my 2016 LC 200.

The stock tires usually showed about 36 PSI. They were 285/50/R20. These are showing 41. Maybe the TP sensors have to be recalibrated? Truck is feeling a bit rough at highway speeds.

You've got a E load range LT tire, not a Passenger tire. Pressure based on load won't be what's on your door sill sticker. @gaijin can help you with proper tire pressure here......

And they will be stiff as they are light truck E load rated tires, not for comfort passenger tires.

As @Noah Miller pointed out, you will need to adjust your LT-Metric tires to a different Recommended Cold Tire Inflation Pressure than what is shown on your door sticker. After adjustment, you will need to perform the TPMS Reset procedure outlined in your Owner's Manual.

When your tires are cold - ambient temperature without having been driven on for at least 4 hours and not warmed by the sun (best is first thing in the morning) - the Recommended Cold Tire Inflation Pressure for your LT285/55R20 tires is 47psi. You need to adjust each tire separately with a good tire gauge. 47psi is the MINIMUM safe pressure for use on road.

The TPMS system is not as accurate as a good tire gauge, so your display may show values from 45psi - 49psi, but trust the pressure your gauge shows.

After all 5 tires are adjusted to the proper pressure, you need to reset your TPMS system - the procedure is in your Owner's Manual and involves pressing a button under the dash which allows the system to "learn" the new correct pressure. Once reset, the TPMS system will alarm when any tire falls below 75% of the set pressure.
