It pains me to hear all of your story's guys. I to had to see my best friend fall asleep and never wake up. It was last year around this time, and to this day I think about him. That's just my way of keeping him with me at all times. I know i am new to this site but I fell like I got a little inside on all of your life's and what wonderful people are. Gosh I look like a sissy I am crying at work I could help it and I didn't want to stop reading.

Steve,You have my most sincere sadness. It hurts so bad and I agree that you never get "over it".I remember every dog that has touched my life and the only thing I know is that they are truely our best friends. The human friends in our lives and even the women...for the most part have a shelf life. Not dogs. Our dogs are forever.

Sorry to hear about Steve's loss. It never gets any easier.

Great name for the terrier!!

Its funny how these animals become such a part of your life.

I was eight when we needed to put our first dog down (she was 18). I felt the need to go with my Dad to the vet. I felt that she had been there for us and I wanted to be there for her. She died in my arms.

We got my current dog a 7 months old. He was a victim of divorce and needed a home (left alone for 12-14 hours a day) and we needed a dog. I couldn't ask for a better dog. Great with people and kids. Happy to go wheeling and camping. We take him everywhere. He is always there for us and happy to see us. I can't even believe someone was willing to give him up.

Here is a pic of him tuckered out after a day of wheeling.
