You (or PO) didn't remove the "they say you can run without it" C-clip on the birf end did you? It can allow the shafts to get pulled toward the third member allowing the seal surface to get pulled away from the correct spot on the shaft. Did that make sense?

Anyway you need the C-clip or some people place a spot weld at the end of the birf shaft so it doesn't slide in as much. Makes changing a birf in the wilds easier.
 
I had an axle seal failing on me consistently - turned out to be a cracked birfied allowing axle movement front and back - destroying the seal.

Clean them up and look for tiny cracks on the birfield around the housing.

Also, if you replaced the kingpin bearings and just reused the same shims you might have inadvertently created a problem due to the axle being off center through the seal.

its was prob. 10 degrees hotter on the left then the right... after about 10 miles of stop and go traffic. i mean its not that hot, that i cant hold on to it. i drive about 20 miles a day of stop and go traffic.

anygood ideas on what to do til the re-build kit gets here?......ill get the bearings with it tooo....i'll order it tomorrow.
 
walk, caulk, lots of snot, hell park where you dont have to worry about the people yelling "its the exxon valdez!!!!!" sorry, but that looks like a PITA,,,
