I got a double DIN aftermarket stereo.
I asked about the sideband because I have noticed a lot of people are talking about the small size CB radios (the ones fitting inside the ash tray) which have no sideband capability.
I am trying to figure out if this feature is useful or useless, considering other people don't have that feature on their radios. What's the point in haven a radio capable of working on sideband if nobody uses it?
Many people say CB is useless altogether and HAM is better, however most of them have CB radios too (dual set up anyway).
There is this Uniden Bearcat 980 with AM/SSB which apparently got some great reviews, but it is a bit larger in size than the Uniden 510/520 and the small Cobra's and a lot more expensive.
So, is it worth the price if SSB would get no use?
As far as HAM, I was thinking about the handheld Baofeng which inexpensive (in case I decide to study and take the technician license test).
