Hi everyone! I am new to these vehicles, and this is my first post on the forum, though I have read lots of threads about my various ideas.

I have just become the fourth owner of this beautiful GX470. It has 233k miles on it and has had some mystery modifications that I am trying to understand. The only mod that is obvious is the rear airbag delete. This was accomplished in a way that results in no codes or error lights. I also discovered that the OEM roof rack had been removed and reinstalled, because the fairings were glued to the mounting brackets and the bolts were covered in silicon adhesive.

My immediate goal is to install a ham radio in the dash. While trying to plan out my electrical connections, I found this mystery device on top of the engine bay relay box:

Under the easily-removed plastic cover is a big '200A' so obviously it's a fuse... but why? The fuse itself is velcro'ed to the top of the relay box.
One end is screwed onto the positive terminal, and the other takes up the entire firewall passthrough:

The cabin fusebox has this little doohickey in it:

And there's a mystery dial installed next to the "2nd STRT" button:

Have you seen any of these before, or do you have any guesses about what they are supposed to be doing? There's no extra electrical equipment, no tow hitch, no lights. It looks completely stock from the outside.

Thanks in advance!
Matt

Thats a large fuse, it probably had a aftermarket subwoofer with amplifier. Follow that power wire back and see where it goes. If it’s not connected to anything, disconnect it or take it apart and pull the fuse. Could be an electrical hazard if that wire is just tucked away. That knob on the dash also probably part of a subwoofer system. Used for gain/bass control.
