I follered that thing all weekend........til I broke my rear pinion..............

No pics?
I find, the more i wheel the less pics i have. I wheeled the piss out of Lorena at GSMTR and virtually no one has pics of it.
Can't wait to actually wheel up there at Superlift in October.

My vote is to give her the tube and the bobby longs. She's just to cool to get rid of at this point. Not to mention that she would probably hunt you down and severe your parts. She is Lorena Bobbit, after all.

Sucks that u broke a ring and pinion, butch. You have a few months before the crawl to get it ready ; )

Sleaking of which when i start breaking R&p thats when i start looking at getting bigger axles.

Eric is starting to chip teeth and he aint even a blonde with a dildo..

..

I gotta have a better traction bar, been running some for 3 years that are marginal, they are a rod with heims on the top of each spring pack, running to a bolt above the front spring mount, Jeff Old has a big one I just did for him and he walked the same rock........

I was wondering what happened . Hard to
Break that rear end.
Jeff just bust beads anyway ; )

She's a heavy heifer.
And the body structure isn't truly secure for a hard roll-over. Plus, she's a filthy girl who hates birfs.
If I was to remove the sheetmetal, I'd leave the firewall, remove the top padded dash, narrow the engine bay, then tube. I'd also go to coil-overs or air shocks and 3-link the front.

It is interesting that you would call your rig heavy. Do you know how much it weighs now?

I met a guy who wanted a light rig and bought a old 4runner. One ton axles, cage, bumpers, GM v6 & driveline swap... in the end his rig wasn't really that light.

Compared to the rig mentioned above, I bet the only thing much heavier on your rig is the engine/trans. TBI 350 & 700r4 would save a few pounds wouldn't it?

Yep. The 3FE/tranny/xfer and frame are all heavy pieces... over 2K lbs right there.

Butch

good stuff there! we would have been there if it wasnt for Moab looming. you gonna make a cameo, Butch?

So, here's what happens... the friggin stub shaft of the birf broke! really?

I need either Longs or D60/14bolt

pulled the rest of it today...
somebody could convince me that this birf broke because of the bushings in the spindles being too worn... It killed the bushing and spindle. Luckily I had a spare spindle that had threads that needed cleaning...

I know! Dang. Like I told him. The easiest thing to try right now is Longs. I think I'll start with one. If it doesn't break, I'll buy another. Then see what happens. I'm going to send that R&P to him and let him cryo it.
If I can keep these birfs from breaking, then I want to keep the yota axles...
But trying a Long is cheaper than fabbing those axles for an 80... right now anyway.
Either way, I wouldn't be able to fab them axles for a few months anyway, so I'm in no rush.

I'd like to keep my TOY axles and hope that all the cutting and chopping will allow me to do so. Next step for me is going to be trussing them and, gusseting the knucles, and MORE cutting:beer:
