I am watching Survivorman on Discovery, and he is attempting to survive in the Kalahari desert. The scenario is he is driving and his FJ-45 runs out of gas. Now he is ripping parts of the 45 off to use in his survival attempt! He ripped off the mirrors, windshield wipers, ripped out part of the wiring, and tore off the fuel lines. The 45 is a super-clean looking rig. All that destruction just for a TV show! J

I heard that it was filmed in California with someone's rig there and much of it was staged.
from the looks of it, i'd have to argue some of these points. the back-ground and plants looked to be african. also, it was a later model 45. in africa those are as common as jeeps are over here.
yeah, it's a bummer to see a 45 get molested like that, but on the other hand, it was cool to see one on tv, potentially saving somebody's life.
