Went and saw the new TT FJ cruiser yesterday

I actually have one on hold, as we speak. I will decide tomorrow if I want to make the switch. The crawl control is only another feature you can use if you want to . No one forces you to use it.

My only objection is where they placed it. I really wanted a sun roof on my new one. It looks like that may be a mod I need to do right off the gitgo . Move the crawl control forward so it doesn't interfere with the sun roof.

I really like the color but was just a bit disappointed, that it actually had some metalflake in it. Fortunately, it's barely only noticeable in direct sunlight. The wheels need to go or the rings need to be blacked out.
The white letter tires need to be reversed.
The stereo is fine but will be replaced with my Kenwood 9990hd with focal components and a JL audio sub with 2 amps ( most of the system that is in my current cruiser )
I couldn't care less about the headrests, as they will probably end up in a box, unless I have passengers in the back

Otherwise, skids, bumpers, lift and new tires will make it look like it should look .

Sure you'll stop there???

Hahaha.

Yeah I love the new color of the TT and I think the CRAWL control feature is just so cool!! And I was super excited to find out that you don't have to get a TT to get the CRAWL control and that it's just part of the off-road package.

I went ahead and bought it .

One interesting thing I discovered right away is that now they have a 4 position light switch
Off
DRL
Running lights with DRL
full lights
That will save me from having to disconnect the drls :D

Now the plan begins ..

Congratulations Don! I like that color.

What did you do with your white beast? I can't believe you would give that up after all the custom work you did on it - tell me it isn't so!

What's the color code on that one? Is it the "cement" color like they have on the Scions?

I'm digging it btw.

You are correct it is the scion color
I am taking some parts off of wikid, but not the camera system, bumpers, wheel/tires I am taking suspension and armor, stereo cb, ham and a few other goodies . I can have the suspension refreshed and get a new swaybar relocate. I also will have the front coilover springs changed to 600# they are currently 650's

Screw that stuff, how 'bout that awesome headliner???

I probably have to let that go . Too much a part of the actual set up to remove it.
I will have to come up with something else cool for this one. Or maybe just leave it as is..

I hate the blind spots, dangerous in big city traffic. I still wish for a removable top. mechanics seem excellent. Mike

Have fun with it Don, and please post some build progress photos here for those of us that no longer frequent the blue room.

I sure will. I will post a build thread over here when I start doing stuff. I am already looking at tires :D

Don, thanks again for the comments on my son's mod (only 5 days left). I was looking at some threads and saw your white "beast" and was freakin' amazed. What a beautiful ride. And now come to find out you have just bought the TT above? Dude we have the same taste, we have this one (same "primer" color) at our local dealer and I came close to adding another cruiser to the family! Looking forward to your mods!

I made those comments sort of late. I realized that after I posted it and saw it was a few weeks old.

I just love the new "primer" color.
I am looking forward to making her look like she should look. I have a few plans in the works.

You should get out and wheel with your son and his new toy. You can teach him all the correct stuff, like tread lightly, proper recovery skills. wheeling techniques, pack in pack out. although.. if you do that, you may be going to the dealership for your new FJ :D

Thanks for the nice comments. I appreciate them. I've done just about every mod myself. let me know if you ever need an opinion or tech help
thanks
Don
