well this is sad, Jeep might be making something really nice...

Toyota could/should sell here what they sell everywhere else on this planet. Not only that, but less and less support for the older rigs. They keep showing commercials with older cars and trucks still on the road, but in reality, all they want you to do is buy a new car or truck very 4 years.

Edit: Good on Jeep for being creative. I have heard that their quality is coming up since Fiat came in...anyone else hear that?

Somehow using Fiat and Quality in the same sentence without a negative is a paradox.

Just my $0.02.

I like that they are thinking of bringing back the FC but I still prefer the original.... (look, another ad where someone is actually 'working' alongside their truck!)

what's wrong with Fiat, they have been in business for ages, built economical vehicles for the common man that have ran solid and been built like Russian tanks .....or were Russian tanks built by Fiat? .....whatever.....
back in Poland my family ended up getting a tiny Fiat 126 we took that little air cooled piece of crap, with a trailer that was almost twice the size of the car, and drove it from Warsaw to Rome (across the small mountains in between). Then continued to abuse the crap out of it in Italy and finally sold it to some guy for almost the same as we bought it. damn thing would not die.

Mat, I'm envisioning you and 7 members of your extended family packed into that little rig looking like a Polish version of the Beverley Hillbillies :-P

My first car I inherited from my sister was a little 4dr standard white Fiat. She blew it up going up Anarchist Pass in 4th gear all the way. Dad rebuilt the engine and it was mine. It was slow but it was a tank. I got into a 4 car pile-up one icy morning on a hill. The front got hit, the rear got hit and the side got sideswiped. Not only did it not get dented, the paint didn't scratch. ICBC could not believe it. I'd buy one of those little old Fiats in a heart beat. It was the perfect utilitarian vehicle and kids first ride.

There was a thread a few years back on BC4x4 where I guy rebuilt one of those old forward control jeeps for a camping rig.

He put a little fbg travel trailer body on the back, like a triple e or something...

Ended up being pretty cool.

Found the thread. My FC170 Build

Yes, I remember him. He's on Delica.ca now. He's either gotten a Pajero or a Delica. Kind of a step down IMO; but he did a nice job of turning that Jeep into a diesel expo rig.
